Notes on the Contemporary Monument explores how temporary urban structures have become the monuments of contemporary life. Drawing connections between classical architecture, commemorative sculpture, public works, and construction infrastructure, the series examines barriers, scaffolding, protective coverings, and improvised assemblies as civic forms that shape public space. These structures regulate movement, visibility, and access, quietly exercising a symbolic authority once associated with permanent monuments.
